Special Abilities
Sporecloud (Ex)Creatures adjacent to a mold gaunt come within range of its sporecloud, a fine aura of moldy spores that surround a mold gaunt. Adjacent creatures must succeed three saves (DC 14) to avoid three different effects. Once a creature has successfully saved against an effect of the sporecloud, it is immune to that effect for 24 hours.
- Fortitude: A failed Fortitude save nauseates the creature for 1 round and inflicts 1 Con damage.
- Reflex: A failed Reflex save blinds the creature for 1 round.
- Will: A failed Will save dazes the creature and inflicts 1 Cha damage.
Death Throes (Su) When the mold gaunt is reduced to 0 or fewer hit points, it explodes in violent burst of spore material. Anyone within a 30 foot burst radius is subject to the affects of the sporecloud.
Mold gaunts are the mindless creations of the ambient release of negative energy from a powerful, fixed location; the constant presence of negative energy decays local organic matter, causing the growth of the mold, but what animates it and gives it shape is unknown. A mold gaunt stands anywhere from 4' to 6' tall, but it is constantly losing and gaining mass to the sporecloud surrounding it.
